The Power of U, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 56-2177076) delivering mental health, juvenile justice, and community support programs to families across Eastern North Carolina. We meet people close to home — in the neighborhoods and counties where they actually live — rather than asking them to come to us.

How We Work: The Power of U is the parent organization; direct services are delivered through our service-delivery arm, Uplift NC. Together, we run three core programs — Child First (home visiting for young children and their caregivers), Substance Abuse Prevention, and the Juvenile Justice Partnership. Every program is built around the family, not the file.

Where We Work: We operate three offices across Eastern North Carolina — Elizabeth City (Beechtree Professional Center, 1023 US 17 South, Suite 1, Elizabeth City, NC 27909), Greenville (1200 E. Firetower Lane, Greenville, NC 27858), and Windsor (416 Ghent Street, Windsor, NC 27983). From these three offices, our programs reach 19 counties across the Trillium Health Resources region.

Leadership: Garrett Taylor serves as Executive Director, leading the organization’s work to deliver these programs across Eastern North Carolina.
