Privacy Policy

The Power of U and Uplift Comprehensive Services

Effective September 30, 2026

Scope and contact

This Privacy Policy describes how The Power of U and Uplift Comprehensive Services handle information in connection with this website, general inquiries, and our text messaging programs. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to those organizations within this scope. For privacy questions or requests, email support@upliftnc.org. This policy does not replace a Notice of Privacy Practices or other notice that applies to clinical services or health records.

Information you provide

When you contact us or sign up for communications, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number, communication preferences, and the information you choose to include in your request. For text messaging, we collect the mobile number, the organization and message categories you select, consent records, message content, and opt-out requests. Please do not submit medical records, diagnoses, Social Security numbers, payment-card details, or other sensitive information through a general website form, ordinary email, or text message. Contact your service team for an appropriate way to provide sensitive information.

Website technical information

When you visit a website, its hosting and security systems may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, and access times. Cookies or similar technologies may be used for site functionality and security. We do not use advertising trackers such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads on this website. Your browser settings let you manage or block cookies, although doing so may affect site features.

How we use information

We use information to respond to requests, coordinate services and appointments, administer programs and communications, document communication choices, honor opt-outs, maintain website and messaging operations, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. We use texting information for the organization and purposes you authorize. Promotional texts, including event announcements and fundraising requests, require a separate affirmative choice from service-related texts. Providing a telephone number or requesting services does not by itself enroll you in promotional messaging.

SMS consent and mobile information

We do not sell or share contact information for outside marketing. We do not sell mobile numbers or share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in records and consent are not sold, transferred, or shared for another party’s marketing. The Power of U and Uplift Comprehensive Services use a shared messaging system, but permission for one organization does not authorize promotional messages from the other. Each organization may message you only within the choices you have made for that organization.

Service providers and other disclosures

We use service providers, including Dialpad for messaging and Microsoft 365 for business communications, to support our operations. Providers may process information needed to perform those functions on our behalf. Access needed to deliver messages or support the program does not authorize independent marketing use of mobile information or texting consent. We may also disclose information when legally required or as necessary to protect rights, security, or safety. These provisions do not permit selling or sharing SMS consent for third-party marketing.

Your communication choices

You may decline texting without losing access to care or services or being required to make a purchase or donation. Reply STOP to a text to unsubscribe, or email support@upliftnc.org to request that texts stop. Reply HELP for assistance. Because we use a shared system, an opt-out may stop multiple message categories sent from the same number. Contact support for other ways to communicate. If you change your mobile number, please tell us. You may ask support to review or correct your contact information and communication preferences, or request deletion of information, subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements.

Retention and protection

We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes described here, including documenting consent and withdrawal, maintaining necessary service records, resolving disputes, and satisfying applicable legal obligations. Appropriate retention depends on the type of information and its use. No website, email service, or ordinary SMS channel can guarantee complete security. Texts can appear on a locked screen or be viewed by someone who has access to your device. Use care when deciding what to send.

Children and representatives

Our public website and general SMS enrollment form are not intended for children under 13 to submit information independently. Parents or authorized representatives should contact the appropriate service team about communications involving a child. A texting consent form does not establish authority to access someone else’s health records or replace any consent required for clinical services.

External websites

Our website or messages may link to other websites. Information you provide directly to an external site is governed by that site’s privacy practices. Review its policies before providing information.

Updates and related terms

We will post changes to this policy here and update the effective date. A policy update does not create new texting consent or expand the organizations or message categories you previously selected. Read our SMS Terms. Contact support@upliftnc.org with questions.
